So, my local store has a Japanese import copy of Rififi for only $5, still sealed. For some reason, someone imported it, never watched it, then donated it. Anyways, do Japanese movies ever include English subtitles? The database doesn't have any information about this release, and the cover is completely in Japanese. I've never bought an import or subtitled film yet, so I'm wondering if my odds are better of it being subtitled, or something I can't watch and should skip buying. |

Japanese releases of non-Japanese movies are usually in their native languages with hard-coded Japanese subtitles. Some releases are also dual lingual and will have the original audio on the digital tracks and a dubbed version on the analog tracks for example. I have never come across a Japanese release that has English subtitles. |

Anyway I looked the movie up on the database and since it's a French movie, I'm gonna guess it's going to be in French so unless you speak French or can read Japanese, it's probably not going to be very useful to you. |
