Hey guys.
Italian Gore Classics. Anybody know anything about these releases? or how many there were? I know of three, of which I've been able to get two for a decent price:

Cannibal Holocaust (1979) (Uncut) [L003] - Found on ebay, still sealed a month or so ago

Eaten Alive (1981) (Uncut) [LAP-0201] - Actually just bought this one off of mikeystoyz. Thanks man!

New York Ripper, The (1981) (Uncut) [LAP-0200] - There's one for sale on lddb, trying to talk myself into paying the nearly $40 for it.

Anybody know of any other ones? I'm a bit of a gorehound and enjoy finding out about these old controversial movies.

Eaten alive is a very interesting movie, and very realistic, even by todays standards.

There's no more releases than those three, they were issued on both LD and VHS. Italian Gore Classics was actually some kind of sublabel of Cult Epics, check this thread to find scan of original distributor leaflet which explains that a bit.

quality-wise I would say that its only NY-Ripper thats any good =) Of course when the internet didnt exist the hunt for these "forbidden" cannibal movies were half the fun.

But even if I might not see any value in non-shocking cannibal movies its still 2 movies that you have to have in any decent ld collection.

I think its worth 40 bucks to complete the series.

The scenes in Eaten Alive are pretty graphic, and the quality of the movie is top notch video wise.

how does the Cult Epics release of Eaten Alive differ from the EC Entertainment release if it does at all?

Mangiati Vivi! (Eaten Alive)

The EC Entertainment LD is listed as running 91 minutes, while the Cult Epics LD is listed as running 87 minutes.

I only have the Cult Epics release, so I can't say for sure.

I have both but I think I haven't ever watched the EC disc, if anyone doesn't already know the answer I can check them out during next week. I'm pretty sure both are uncut versions so probably the possible differences lie in quality factor if anywhere.

I have seen the Netherlands one and the picture on mine was totally as good as a very good DVD. I have nothing bad to say about the quality.
