Found this rather cool link.

I guess some have heard about the rare 35mm print owned by someone in the UK who allowed it to be screened at special one night showing at the Senator cinema in the USA a year or so more ago.

Lots of still digital pictures in the link and short video with minor flicker as the chaps camera was running at 30fps and the film was running at 24fps so your'll see the shutter blade flicker.

The stills are amazing better than bluray and DVD whites are whiter colours and resolution captures the essence of the classic film we once knew. :)

looks just like when i saw the re-release at imax back around 1995.

Good to know that Lucas hasn't got his hands on all the original prints. Perhaps one day we'll get to see a decent release of the films again, but I think we'll be waiting a while.

The key is the Technicolor IB printing. The video versions in a better world should be based on this source and look exactly the same. And have the sound options of lossless theatrical Dolby Stereo, Mono, and Dolby 70mm 6 track stereo (4.2 or approximate)
