Okay, so I am looking for a specific movie and I cannot remember the name.
This bothers me for some time now (in fact years).

Anybody here got an idea?
I even gave ChatGPT a try but without success. That’s how desperate I am.

Here are the details I do remember:

1. I have seen this movie as a teenager and at that time I considered the movie to be “quite old”, so it could have been produced between 1980 and 1990?
2. I am sure it was not a local German production
3. The genre is a mix of science-fiction / action / comedy (some stupid jokes etc.)
4. I do not remember the names of any actors - maybe more kind of a B-Movie; no AAA actors
5. Not an asian movie, only western actors
6. Movie details / scenes:
   
   1. Aliens do live on our planet in secret
   2. They have completely black eyes (no white part) and have to wear sunglasses so nobody can see their eyes.
   3. They are always wearing tuxedos or similar posh clothing
   4. In one scene two of these kind of “agents” talk about how they cannot understand how humans can wear clothing a second time. They got a device to destroy old clothing and always got suitcases with new clothing in them.
   5. In another scene the protagonist is killing aliens with his shotgun and is saying “Drei im Magazin, eine im Lauf und derer schwarze Mann geht drauf”. Which translates to something like “Three in the clip, one in the barrel and the black man bites the dust”. However I am sure the English text is something else as in German this rhymes but I think you get the point. I just realize how politically incorrect that statement is…
   6. In yet another scene one of the main protagonists is shooting one of the tuxedo wearing aliens that is already lying dead on the ground saying something like “in case of doubt always empty the complete clip” (“Im Zweifelsfall immer das gesamte Magazin entleeren”).
7. It is none of the following movies:
   
   1. Men in Black - That was ChatGPTs suggestion…
   2. Dark Angel
   3. They Live

Maybe one of you fellow nerds is able to solve this riddle.
It is driving me nuts!!!

Hope this helps a little.

Years ago I had netflix and they were playing some Scifi German films, I can't remember anything else but they were from the late 70s and it was a known film production company that made a bunch of stuff.

I would try and find that film company from Germany and see if its one of their films.
Sorry don't have time to search it up right now.

Actually your idea did point in a completely different direction but made me find a few sites where I was actually able to finally find the movie I was looking for!

The movie is called "The Shadow Men" from 1997.

And... oh boy. This did not age well.
Some things should stay in the past with this sparkling nostalgic feeling attached to it.

I was curious to check it out on any streaming service available, but the movie is not available in Germany at the moment. Like it has vanished. Just someone who uploaded the English original on Youtube.

Would love to see it with German dub as I did as a teen.

I'm honestly not sure if it was UFA, I think they were 60s or 70s films, I remember watching 3-4 films and they all looked the same, I can't even
remember the films of what they were, lots of space helmets like clear domes and stuff but not interesting enough to remember for me.

Yeah…see…when you say an “old movie” I’m not thinking 1997 because film history is well over a century at this point.

Me neighter! That was one of the reasons I never found it. Always looked for actually "old" movies.
But when you are still young "old" is very relative.
Was irritated as well that the movie was only 2-3 years old when I watched it as a teen.

In the US we watched a lot of those kinds of movies on the USA Network’s “Up All Night”. I guess that sort of show was still going in 97 but I mostly associate it with the 80s and early 90s.
