You can usually find another one example i just won a P&S My Fair Lady even though i own several widescreen ones just for something different but i had the chance to bid higher on one months ago but lost. The one regret is a seller had some low price Japan imports i shouldve bid on. Thank God its Friday but didnt & i have never seen another one for sale.

I lost Beach, and more recently Lake Placid, dont remember how much it went for but it shortly after showed up here in lddb.com for much more money.... Something is wrong with the LD market...

I'll do you one better.

One time I missed the chance to bid on a title, but as it turns out, no one else bid on it as well. The seller relisted it. Only problem was, now it got more attention for some reason, and I got outbid!!

Most of my LDs bids on are titles on Ebay.com not Ebay.co.uk so US bidders have a competitive edge over me - it is called being awake!
Given the vast majority of activity on an auction is in the last few seconds, I have often lost out simply because I was fast asleep in my bed at the time the auction finished.
As the saying goes if you snooze you lose!

I know there are all sorts of fancy sniping tools out there for doing the bidding for you, but I still prefer the thrill of participating in a real auction and being able to adapt if circumstances change suddenly.

I remember a Japan edition Scenery disc from a few years back. It's one I had never seen before and not in the database either. As it goes though the seller had quite a few other scenery discs which I find attracts more bidders with combined shipping.

I was at 48.00 and still outbid, and have never seen another copy.

Usually lose on the Indiana Jones trilogy whenever it pops up at a decent price. The big one was a huge lot of letterboxed James Bond titles that I lost out on. 25 to 30 something minty WS discs with inexpensive shipping. ($25 or so) It included several of the rare THX titles, one of the Criterion CAVs, the two others in CLV, Goldfinger box set, and more. Still regret that one, but someone bid the price way way up.

Just lost out on the DTS versions of Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies for the 4th or 5th time. $16 each outbid at the very last second. I'm sooo tired of finding personal grails for cheap and waiting for days...only to get outbid in the very last second.

They one that still PAINS me is a set of 8 Japanese Dts titles on yahoo auction jp, including Ransom and ID4. The only problem they had was the Obis had been stuck on to the jackets with glue. Anyway I figured the bidding would still go pretty high. Stupidly I thought I'd bid closer to the end of the auction. Of course I forgot and the set sold with one bid at 300 yen!!!!! Fuuuuck!!! I still feel sick about letting that one go, Especcially at that ridiculous price.
