Best reason why to spin vinyl. Brought music back for me 100%. I use a Technics SL-1200mk2 and they are indeed built like a tank. Some audiophiles turn their nose up at it a bit, but they didn't change anything for over 30 years on these babys.
My dad had a Technics turntable years ago but ended up selling the hi-fi system to a student from Thailand in the household as my dad and stepmom was hosting students and I didn't even get first refusal of it.

Not sure of model number but my easiest guess would be it was late 1970's model as my dad bought the hi-fi separates around early 80's.
It had variable pitch it was silver it had plastic cover to lower over it to keep dust off it it had little glass thingy that had an orange light being beamed up so can see the pattens on the side of the turntable. I'm looking though Google to see if I can find a close match mind you last time I saw it was in students room 1985.
I'm sure it didn't have slider for the pitch control it was rotary.
Its not what I can see pictured in the link how many models did Technics make it was proper model must have cost new nearly £300.00 or less? That's my guess mind you.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technics_SL-1200I don't know it might have had slider its 27 years ago and about 31/32 years ago since my dad bought it.

Its kinder close to this the glass thiny with light was on right side but something about that is not quiet the same I saw I guess the youtuber video is model of the 70's but how many models did they produce then again it could have been and 1980 or 81 model?
