It lies to her. It tells her things only a child can understand. It's been using her to restrain the others. To her, it simply is another child. To us, it is The Beast.
Tangina Poltergeist

Just bought this, for under £3.99 and it looks rare I wasn't aware a Dolby AC-3 pressing was done I guess its the same to the R1 first pressing I have that looks better than the SE DVD/bluray the colour balance looks as it should when I saw a double bill show of Poltergeist and Poltergeist II at the Cannon cinema screen 2 summertime 1990.

I've seen that version for sale, but I opted for the CAV Box set from 11994 . . .

Poltergeist (1982) (Uncut) [ML104865]

I wonder if the picture transfer is any different?

I wouldn't doubt not much difference to really notice. CAV seems like a nice option over digital freeze on my Laerdisc player as it gives a truer still image. I'll keep the CAV in mind for later on.

Dolby Digital trailer Neon City seems to be have edited down to the last few seconds when the "DOLBY DIGITAL" appears starting at chapter 0 it fades in at 0m.55s/1m.02s

Great AC-3 track on Poltergeist, anxious to hear your thoughts on it!

Poltergeist 2 also has a relatively rare dolby digital version, also great.

I wasn't aware until years ago as I thought Poltergeist II was only released in optical Dolby Stereo, as stated on the imdb site http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091778/

Checking around with in-70mm http://www.in70mm.com/library/process/dolby/index.htm it appears that a six-track mix was created but must have had a limited release or marketing campaign?

My thoughts on the Laserdisc very good
Picture 10/10
Sound 10/10
Overall 10/10
