I saw brief bit of "Final Destination 4" last week I turned it off after the opening main titles finished as it had long sequence at race track and those kinder of films are not my taste at all, load of sick warped minded rubbish violence.

Checking out several films that have long preludes or lead-ins to the film's titles, I found that the Friday the 13th series seems to dominate. I haven't timed them all, but Friday the 13th Part 2 is really long at well into 12 minutes. Any other films with preludes that long or longer that you know of? Having no titles or only titles at the end don't count. |

No where near 12 minutes. Once Upon A Time in the West credits last 10 minutes into film. But they start after 2 or 3 minutes. |

I remember Return of the Living Dead has a long opening sequence before the titles. Don't quite remember the exact time tho. |

My memory is a bit fuzzy but I "think" Raising Arizona ran quite a bit before the titles..... |

The longest 007 teaser is in The World Is Not Enough, which runs somewhere around 15 minutes. |

I just double-checked on The World is Not Enough = 14:16 Longest opening so far is The Departed 18:35. |

Oh yes that short moment yes "I feel your pain".

I've never timed it but Blow Out has a nice long sequence before the titles. |

Star Trek V is the only one with an intro, the rest go right into titles. TMP has that music intro, the star field was removed in the Blu ray release. |

The star field was added to the home video releases for the overture on TMP, so the BD is presenting it the correct way, with a black screen - in the better theaters, the curtains were closed and house lights up. |

I'm sure the small intro was on the 70mm print I saw at the Empire as that was the last time I ever saw STAR TREK IV in 1989. That umm star field was added for the directors-lousy-cut. Worst version of it ever! The theatrical works just fine.

Even thou it was never featured at the cinema (only on Laserdisc). Not sure if the VHS editions widescreen, had it on it? I need VHS player to check it. |
