So forgive me if this is something that you guys get all the time, but I'm new and the search function didn't turn anything up (which may just be my fault, I know.) I'm getting ready to dip my toe into LD collecting. My motivation is to collect editions that have some particular value that available DVD and BD released don't have. In some cases, that can just be superior sound--I'm certainly planning to pick up some of the great action films that I've been told are worth a buy on LD just for the sound. In other cases, it can be a version of a film only available on LD, such as a good-quality original theatrical release of the Star Wars original trilogy. In other cases, it would be special features that are only available on LD, such as the Criterion releases that never got DVD release. So given those criteria, what would y'all suggest as essential LDs to pick up? (In general, assume I have pretty similar tastes as you do in film, because I probably do.)
