Does anyone know if any DVD release of "For Richer or Poorer" (1998) comes with the special features that the Laserdisc has? According to the database, the signature edition LD includes:

* Feature commentary with Director Bryan Spicer
* A Featurette on the making of 'For Richer or Poorer' (side three)
* Extended and Deleted scenes.
* The original ending
* The Theatrical Trailer (side four, chapter 5)
* Outtakes

So its a nice pile of extras. At most I've only seen DVD versions listed with soundtracks dubbed in French and Spanish, subtitles in Spanish and English, and production notes, cast and crew biographies, and a theatrical trailer.

Can anyone confirm this? Because otherwise the Laserdisc may be the only place to get these special features and there is no Blu-Ray release yet.

It's a good film too..

The film has been released twice on DVD. The standard edition and then a DTS edition. None have any of the supplements from the LaserDisc.

Thanks for the confirmation, blam1. What motivates me to buy Laserdiscs is if they have content that is exclusive to them or if the Laserdisc version is the best quality option to go for. I really like "For Richer or Poorer" and I love special features, and even though I could pick up the DVD version for cheap, I would rather go for the more expensive Laserdisc version because of its uniqueness.

Are either of the DVD versions 16:9 anamorphic out of curiosity?

Yes, both DVD editions are 16x9 anamorphic.

It's also worth noting that the DTS edition is a full-bitrate encode, not the lower 768 kb/s bitrate.

Thanks again. So it pretty much comes down to anamorphic enhanced better picture quality and sound (with the DTS version), vs far more special features.

Seeing as though I don't watch many DVDs where my home theater is set up anyway, and I'm sure the Laserdisc being a fairly late pressing will look quite good in its own right, I'm still going to go for the Laserdisc version over either of the DVD versions mainly because of special features, the gatefold cover and all those juicy extras. I think I might get it for Christmas.

Do you own the Laserdisc or either of the DVDs?

I have the LaserDisc and the DTS DVD, but I haven't watched either in several years.
