Well Hitchcock was completed long time ago ;) My current kind of hunt lists are 3 british actresses: Margaret Lockwood (my current priority for collecting/finding) Patricia Roc and Rene Rey. Just started seeking out Virgina Mayo stuff (much easier). What stinks about the 3 aforementioned UK starlet's a *ton* of their films are presumably lost, or at least not released on *any* home video format in the states or abroad, some of the titles I've procured via xvid's etc of TV broadcasts but that's it. Shame really :/

I'm a classic film junkie. If I like a particular actress/actor, sometimes director I will pull out my notebook (yes I have a giant binder for film related notes/lists/etc) and I will make a list of each film they are in. Then at work (overnight) I will go by and research if the film is available, on what format, what country etc. Then I will go on a hunt ;)

can you give us a few names? I can guess Hitchcock for now:)

For laserdisc, Criterions, Roan, Image Silent Classics. I'm also on a big 70s sci fi kick lately. On DVD/Blu, I picked up just about every Masters of Cinema disc.

I had great interest in MoC blu-rays in early days then I noticed Criterion licensed and released most of those in the state side. There are few MoC exclusives but those get ported to CC later date generally. I still would like to have a complete MoC collection as some of their releases are superior to CC but I started collecting all CC BDs from day one(now at over 230 titles) I cant find budget for another major collection.

I started with the MOC dvds after being a longtime CC fan. The movie selection was pretty good, the quality of the releases were on par or better that the CC and the booklets were almost always superior. On top of that they we usually less costly. I've continued with the Blu releases for mostly the same reason and I'll admit, brand loyalty. Cost has gone up but still usually cheaper than CC releases when I buy direct from them. I still buy some CCs but I've so far resisted the urge to upgrade the DVDs to Blu. I did recently purchase Badlands and Shallow Grave.
