Last weekend, SFI had their 50th anniversary at Filmhuset here in Stockholm and they had a contest. In that contest, the one and only prize was to choose a film from the Swedish film archive and get a private screening of the film in their main theater, Victor. I took part of the contest and there is a possibility for me to win but I'm not very certain.

However, right after I joined the contest, I began thinking of which film I'd choose. There are a couple of films that I'd love to watch on the big screen, like Herr Arnes Pengar, Stagecoach and Lat sau san taam. But I know that these films have been shown at Filmhuset and there are more screenings to come. Then there are also some films that I'd like to see but are nearly impossible to find on home video but I would never like to choose a single film to get a private screening of and feel disappointing.

So... Which film would you've chosen if you'd got this single chance? :)

it's hard to say, but since i sort of know which films you like, i would say something like a Jaques demy film, or something a little action packed
that would be great on the screen like grand prix or 2001.

also you could do something like Sanjuro, always loved that one.
but there are many, good luck on getting to see a film

Sanjuro is very good, and it was released in Sweden so they would most likely have a copy.

I don't think I'll win the screening, but if I do, I think I'll choose Alexander Nevsky.
