The very first laserdisc I ever watched was about half of Space Archive #1: Space Shuttle Mission Reports (1983) [SA01]. I loaded this disc as a quick test of my player. My time that night was limited as I had plans with a friend. My player had been purchased nearly a month before, and I had yet to watch anything because it didn't work upon arrival.

I believe it was the next day when I watched Judge Dredd (1995) [5261 AS] with my evening meal. It was the second disc I ever loaded, and this one I watched in its entirety. It was a sealed disc. :) Ah nostalgia.

The 1st demo of an L.D. that I seen, was last year was "Escape from L.A." (French dubbed) on a Pioneer C.L.D-1200. My 1st home, this year was French subtitled (not dubbed!) disc of "The Rocky horror picture show" on my "Telefunken" V.D.P. 500 ("Pioneer" C.L.D.-1600 clone).

First time I watched a LD was around 92-93 something... Didn't know much back then and it wasn't very common in Sweden that ppl had a player. Only knew one person... (don't remember the movie either)
The first movie I watched after I started collecting myself was tombstone :)

None, so far. Still waiting for that moment.

Although, maybe in the past I may have sometime. I'm not really sure. I don't remember if I have.

I was 17 and borrowed a player from my friend's dad to watch my eBay pickups of the theatrical cut of Blade Runner and the Aliens Special Edition.

There was a copy of "The Story of O" left in the player.

It took a long time to get around to Blade Runner.

Hmm, the first laserdisc I ever watched... Can't really remember it well. I do remember my first player were a Pioneer CLD-1750. It broke within two weeks after I got it. So didn't get much laserdisc enjoyment.

The very first laserdisc I added to my collection on this website were Friday the 13th (1980) [PEL 61172]. The very first I actually watched I'm not too sure about. It was either Stargate (1994) [LD60190-WS] or Predator (1987) [1515-85].

I started collecting LaserDiscs in August of 2022 shortly after my 19th birthday. I remember putting on Terminator 2 Judgement Day (that really common US widescreen release LD68952-2WS, which I must have owned at least 3 or 4 copies of in my lifetime) to test the player I had at the time (a VP1000 that only worked like 25% of the time which I later replaced with a Pioneer CLD-D505), though I think I kinda just had the movie on in the background but I did play the whole movie. I think I was like building Lego or something while it was on lol

If I recall properly, after Clockwork Orange, we watched CONGO, they were the very first spun up circa 1996 !
I recall being blown away by the mom and pop of dvd / cd !
Oh what a hobby ensued thereafter .....

Cheers to the membership !

That's a fun topic, personally the first LD I've probably seen was either Space Jam or The Last Action Hero when I was a young kid.

The first LD I ever saw would have probably been Dragon’s Lair in the arcade and then Space Ace, and a few others. I demoed a Marantz model in an indie stereo shop but eventually bought a Pioneer S201 in 92, quite a few years after Dragon’s Lair. My first discs were Far and Away, Project A-ko, Nausicaa…

If something beside a complete disc-watching counts, my first was the MCA Discovision demo disc that includes Peter Falk in two languages (to demonstrate the use of separate sound tracks) along with Elton John performing (to demonstrate stereo sound; ironically the first Elton John concert disc was -not- in stereo). That, plus some of the beginning of "Jaws 2" (demonstrating slow motion, freeze-frame, step-by-step and similar functions) were both played at the "How to sell the Magnavision videodisc player and video discs" class I took shortly before the format was put on sale in the Chicago, Illinois area in October 1980. When we got our first player in the store, the Magnavox rep gave us a spare disc from a copy of "Jesus Christ Superstar" (sides 3 and 4, I am pretty sure) and we played that disc in the store window repeatedly every day for a good while.

Memory a little hazy on it... but pretty sure it was JEWEL OF THE NILE on my first functional LDP, - a 1990 PIONEER CLD-1080 - back around 2004/2005...
