As far as I know Laserview in Antwerp released 2 titles:

- Daens (2 discs, 3 sides PAL)
- Ad Fundum (1 disc, 2 sides PAL)

Both Flemish movies and manufactured by Pioneer US

Is there anyone who has any idea if there were more titles released or how much of each title were made,
as there had to be some kind of minimum order with Pioneer and can not expect there to be 1000 or even 500 copies of each title?

Hi edwin240170,

I read and was told by reliable magazines ''WIDSCREEN REVIEW'' and by ther reatailer that stocked mostly laserdisc's in 1998 that the manufacturer had to have at least a guaranteed 5000 orders before they considered a first production of any title.

Some times though the studio would release details of up and coming titles, and then pulled the plug with out any warning, of which really bugged me.

DTS Titles to be released were cancelled also sometimes this was a hit and miss affair with production runs.

I suppose with DVD in the shops in it's early days was doing well, so this made the distributors rethink LD matters.

I was going to purchase ''FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS'' but this was cancelled at the time.

Regards

 :o  :?

Don't know about pioneer and actual numbers, iirc 3M was able to press fewer disc when a friend was producing an educational multimedia LD's in the early 1990's making about 350 pressings per title.
