What's wrong with this? Oh, I didn't realize it had a Japanese release. I'll trade you one Forced Vengeance for one Jade Unrated Director's Cut!

1) Star Wars II The Clone Wars DD / DTS. 2) Star Wars III Return Of The Sith DD / DTS. 3) I, Robot DTS. 4) X Men 2 DTS. 5) X Men 3 The Last Stand DTS. 6) Fantastic Four DTS. 7) Fantastic Four ''Silver Surfer'' DTS. 8) Iron Man 1 and 2 DTS. The cover art would have been great, and the Japanese versions with OBI's Superb.

They gave Roots Search an LD which everyone says its bad. Never seen Roots Search. Three personal highlights I would have loved to add to my collection: Ike! Ina-chuu Takkyuubu aka Ping Pong Club, from 1995. H2 (1995~96) -> apparently the only Adachi Anime that did not get released on LD! Kyou Kara Ore wa!! OVA delinquents series 1993~1997. Many TV series didn't make it, while some of the movies or specials of them are actually out on LD. For example try finding Houkto no Ken TV series or Slam Dunk series... or shall i mention Dragon Ball Z? Not to forget several dozens more titles from 1998~1999 that did not get the LD treatment anymore (Examples Dokkiri Doctor, Colorful, Excel Saga, etc.)

Well, I am assuming that this discussion includes ONLY titles which actually COULD HAVE been released (i.e. nothing after the year 2000 cutoff). That being said, here are a few of my "wishlist" titles. I divide them into three categories for your consideration:
1. Titles which were announced but cancelled: Horror of the Blood Monsters Special Edition, The Car Special Edition, Boris Karloff Mr. Wong Collection, Stir of Echoes, Burnt Offerings, McLintock!, The Ghoul, The Visitor, Lone Ranger Vol. 4, The Devonsville Terror, Teenage Exorcist, Prehistoric Women, The Brotherhood of Satan, Taste the Blood of Dracula, Amazing Transparent Man/Strange Illusion, Best of Bogart boxset, Fun in Acapulco letterboxed, G.I. Blues letterboxed, Criterion Collection Godzilla films, Gamera letterboxed editions.
2. Titles which should have been released, but for some unknown reason were not: The Wicker Man, Fade to Black, A Night in Casablanca, Trilogy of Terror, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Flaming Star, The Sentinel, The Blood on Satan's Claw, Food of the Gods (the original), The Legacy, Tuck Everlasting, The Hollywood Knights, Night of the Comet, The Next Voice You Hear, Telefon, Going in Style, They Call Me Bruce?, Helter Skelter.
3. Titles which I can understand why they were not released, but I would like to have seen anyway: Horror of Party Beach, Reefer Madness, The Sinister Urge, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, They Saved Hitler's Brain, Evilspeak, Navy vs. the Night Monsters.

The Wheeler & Woolsey comedies missed by Image Entertainment (They released 10 W&W films on LaserDisc). They were RKO's hotest stars through the depression years: "Rio Rita" (1929) "The Cuckoos" (1930) "Dixiana" (1930) "Cracked Nuts" (1931) announced but cancelled "Caught Plastered" (1931) "Girl Crazy" (1932) "Hold 'Em Jail: (1932) "So This Is Africa" (their only film made away from RKO. Highly butchered prior to theatrical release) "Cockeyed Cavaliers" (1934) "On Again-Off Again" (1937) RELEASED ON LD (ALL BY IMAGE): HOOK, LINE & SINKER PEACH O'RENO DIPLOMANIACS HIPS, HIPS, HOORAY! KENTUCKY KERNELS THE NITWITS THE RAINMAKERS SILLY BIILIES MUMMY'S BOYS HIGH FLYERS All of the Wheeler & Woolsey releases by Image are very high in quality, made by 3M or Kuraray. I'd LOVE to have all of their films on LD. *"Dixiana," with the Technicolor reels restored, has been released on DVD by The Roan Group. I own a copy. STAY AWESOME!

"A Golan-Globus Production". . . yep, Cannon Films (known for their Ninja and fad dance movies of the 80s) had very little shame in trying to make money from any title they could. I kind of imagine they made "Exterminator 2" because James Cameron's "The Terminator" was released not too long before, and were hoping that people would think that "Exterminator 2" was the sequel to Cameron's movie

nextwednesday wrote: Reading the thread title, my immediate answer is Eyes Wide Shut on LD, preferably a full frame edition version for maximum resolution and DTS. That would have completed my Kubrick LD collection for one thing. I'm happy to have seen it at least once in earlier posts.
Soderbergh's Solaris is another from earlier posts that makes me take notice. Yeah, pretty sure Solaris is on LD too. Let me go dig them out of my vault. I think I have all of them The AC3: The DTS: And there's at least 3 Criterion's out there: Watching AC3 version tonight...
