Neat! I wonder if they used the same transfer for the DVD since they both were released around the same time!

The full moon got me thinking about the Wolf Man, and it turns out there wasn't a Discovision release...

28 Days Later (my post-LD contribution)

Good grief. I started both and quit before I got too far in. I've put them on hold and have nos VHS copies coming. I was so disappointed in Acorn's DVD that I didn't even want to roll the dice on their VHS and sought out the PBS Home Video release.

The latter I can accept and understand after learning that it was the equipment they chose at the time with theater presentation in mind.

any new movie filmed on analog 35mm cameras like THE HUNGER GAMES for example should deserve a LD edition....

It'd be interesting to see how films shot with digital cameras would look transferred on Laserdisc. The format fell a year or 2 short of Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones which was the first film to be fully shot digitally.

I think the closet we got was with Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Meance where a couple of scenes were in fact shot with very very early digital cameras for experimentation..

Unfortunately it came out summer of 2001, but I would have loved to see Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire. I love the animation, and I imagine the soundtrack on LD would be great.

I got thinking about Farscape the other day and wondered why it never got a laserdisc release. It started on 1998 so I guess it was maybe too late for an unestablished (at the time) series to make it to the format. Though if it had been released it would have probably suffered from NTSC slow down since it was mastered in PAL.

Cruel Intentions laserdisc would have been something awesome to have. Would have liked to see what that would looked like on laserdisc. Hey if anyone has a beta copy of this never released to the public feel free to send me a copy of it. I believe I heard this was originally going to release on laserdisc but ended up getting cancelled.

Gumby The Movie (1995) I'm surprised a LaserDisc doesn't exist of that movie. If there was, surely I'd know by now.
