Post subject:  DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS (1988) and the Cute Outfit...

well, inspiration can strike from the unlikeliest of places, i suppose, and one can never know just from when and from where something just might catch one's eye;

anyway, -enough of the melodrama- i had just sat through about 1/2-3/4 of this movie a couple days ago,
before me and the family just couldn't take any of it any longer and just quit the damned thing. apologies to this movies' fans out there,
but me and my family just couldn't have agreed more in our opinion of this films' occasionally mildly amusing yet generally painfully schlocky nature overall. (IMO)

that said, there was actually one small redeeming feature for me to find in the film, this rather pretty, adorable and fairly unusual outfit
an incidental woman (with lovely hair) is wearing, that the camera catches several annoyingly fleeting marginal scenes of in the casino segment about 3/4 in.
yes, yes, i know; all eyes are to be on Steve Martin in all of those scenes, but i just tend to rock just a little unusually that way, you know? anyway;

- those are indeed fantastically lousy examples, but it's the best i could manage for screencaps without a DVD or BRD copy of the film on hand.
further, with this damned films' insistence on keeping this woman almost entirely in the background like a random extra,
and yet somehow simultaneously featuring her prominently in it's own perverse sort of way, it gives me frustratingly precious little to work with.

all the same, those cummy-ass caps up there should prove enough to roughly illustrate what i was attempting to loosely model off of in this;

- it's definitely a wee bit baggier than it's inspiration, but i kind of don't mind it that way, to be honest.
the peach tone is very pleasing IMO, but it's hardly by design. it was merely the only fabric i happened to have on hand
that matched the look and feel of what the outfit ( Jumper? ) on screen appeared to me to have been crafted from.

i just might yet make an alteration or two, -to bring it closer to model- but i'm generally happy with how it turned out,
and it does give my 27cm. OBITSU-based "Li Kohran" (Sakura Wars, SEGA/RED 1996)
-which has been something of a neglected fifth-wheel in my Anime doll collection- something cute, pretty and comfy to romp about in...
