Just watched Firefox letterboxed it just had very light rot on side one but what bothers me most is when a laserdisc has what I call picture fuzz. It starts at a certain spot on side 1 then develops at the same area on side 2 unless side 2 is in CAV. I try the discs on different players but it still occurs. Election & Payback & recently Frankenhooker did it at the last of side 1 but since side 2 was CAV it did not occur. Im NOT crazy at least about this issue it is pure picture fuzz or a fuzzy picture. I do find it more annoying than a case of light laser rot.

It sort of sounds like crosstalk can you post a picture of it?? if you are able to catch it.

Could it be something with the composite cable??? that it may be going bad or possibly some light corrosion on the jack from the player??
Even if it looks clean, you may want to try cleaning the contacts.

This has happened over the years not with the same players & I tried the affected discs at the time on different players with the same result. I know there is a term for this but I do not know what it is called.

Chroma noise and or cross color artifacts and it can bother more or less people to a certain degree.

I hope this clears up the term your looking for.

Yup, I would rather deal with light spekeles that the picture being fuzzy. I usually try to find another one if the second one has the same issues hello Mr. Trash Bin.
