Just won some playboy laserdiscs for $10.00 with free shipping. Anyone else here ever buy laserdiscs that did not include the covers?

A couple that were cheap ex-rentals with no original sleeve, one where the sleeve was too badly damaged to be usable, and one I bought accidentally - someone sold me a job lot of laserdiscs and one had an extra disk tucked into the sleeve - Spawn. Fortunately I had a few plain sleeves left from some very old educational disks that were no longer playable, so I've at least got them protected.

Occasionally, yes. I buy plain LP jackets at the local record store for just this purpose.

I received an unexpected extra disc without cover on three occasions; twice when buying demo discs, and once buying a lot of industrial discs.
To rectify the situation (and prepare for future occurrences) I bought a 10-pack of these from LBB Music And More for $7.99:

A couple but they were early 12" LDs for coin operated music/video machines & one intended for broadcast use, they came (& appear to have been originally issued) in plain white card LP type sleeves.

I would have no problems if it came without the original cover if it was a disc that I was looking for. There are a few titles that I have been on the hunt for many years & the content on them, for me, is more important than if it comes with the cover - one with a cover may pop up at some time in the future.

It is nice after saying that though to receive a long sought after disc with the cover in first class order.

Many promo music LDs come in essentially generic sleeves so I'd definitely buy those if the content interested me.

I'd also buy laserdiscs with no cover if I wanted a perfect LD to replace a rotted copy.

So your PB LD was naked, topless with no covers.

I won't buy an LD with no cover. I have seen some few but few that rarely show up for sale with no covers.

Correction, I guess I have bought some titles with no outer sleeve . . . mainly those 8" Laserjuke discs since those generic outer sleeves were discarded by the original jukebox owners.
