I'm curious, the 1981 edition of "Saturday night fever", manufactured by M.C.A. is a rotter?

tl;dr anything made in 1981-2 is risky IMO. Especially with international shipping make darn sure the seller actually plays the disk first.

Anything made by Discovision have a decent chance of having level 1-2 rot by later LD standards, but those disks all but came off the line that way. I just expect the quirks and enjoy Discovision when I watch it

Some 1980/1 disks are worse (I have a level 3-4 rotter of Airplane!), but a lot of Pioneer Japan 81-82 disks are also level 3-4 rotters from the typical glue problems.

On the flip side there are also a lot of very good 1981-2 disks with little speckling.

So I'd leave the 81 pressing alone, the 82 version was probably repressed for years, and if you got one made after 85-86 it's unlikely to have any rot/speckling at all.

For an old version I'd go with the original DiscoVision release. Not just because it's the most fitting DiscoVision title ever, it's also the original R rated cut.

If the price will be 2-3 British Pounds, I will risk. But if it's more, I will not.
I want DiscoVision discs, but in Europe the price is high for me and if I bring something from the U.S.A. the delevery is more expensive then the disc istelf  (found some discs that I like at prices of 3-5 dollars, but the delevry is in the best case 15 dollars, so  ).

I got the disc about 1 week ago. Except for a 1-2 seconds on side 2, the rest it's o.k. But the sound... well, it's not Hi.-Fi.
It's my oldest N.T.S.C. disc.
