tl;dr
anything made in 1981-2 is risky IMO. Especially with international shipping make darn sure the seller actually plays the disk first.
Anything made by Discovision have a decent chance of having level 1-2 rot by later LD standards, but those disks all but came off the line that way. I just expect the quirks and enjoy Discovision when I watch it

Some 1980/1 disks are worse (I have a level 3-4 rotter of Airplane!), but a lot of Pioneer Japan 81-82 disks are
also level 3-4 rotters from the typical glue problems.
On the flip side there are also a lot of very good 1981-2 disks with little speckling.
So I'd leave the 81 pressing alone, the 82 version was probably repressed for years, and if you got one made after 85-86 it's unlikely to have any rot/speckling at all.
For an old version I'd go with the original DiscoVision release. Not just because it's the most fitting DiscoVision title ever, it's also the original R rated cut.
