If you are into war movies, what are your 10 favorites on laser?

Mine are, in no particular order:

Breaking Point
Cross of Iron
Guadalcanal Diary
The Longest Day
Mein Kampf
Night of the Generals
Operation Crossbow
The Sea Chase
Tora Tora Tora
The Wannsee Conference

Three honorable mentions that are not quite WWII movies (in that they are not set in WWII):

Fatherland
Hanussen
Judgement at Nuremburg

Saving Private Ryan
The Thin Red Line
Casablanca (hey, it's a WWII movie--just not a war movie!!)
A Bridge Too Far
The Dirty Dozen
Empire of the Sun
The Longest Day
The Keep (hey, it's set during WWII!!)
1941 (I know it was a bomb, but I like it!!)
Where Eagles Dare
Memphis Belle

I kinda felt like mentioning Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as well . . .

I was extremely tempted to put one of the "To Be Or Not To Be" movies on the list - probably the 1942 version. Don't know what I would have kicked off for it though. Life is full of hard choices.

No one has mentioned the classic "Das Boot", and in my humble opinion, one of the finest WWII movies ever put on film. There are three versions of it to choose from, the original theatrical cut, the director's cut and the full TV mini-series. Each are equally good but the full TV mini-series is probably the best as there is much more story development that is simply cut from the other two theatrical releases. And the great thing is that all three versions were available on laserdisc, including the mini-series, which makes it a PAL exclusive as it was only released in Germany with no subtitles.

That is one that would be in among my top 10.

The ASTRO set looks great, a pity there was not an English language track or English subtitles on the LDs or I would go for it but being limited to a pressing of only 500 it may be a bit scarce (or is it quite easy to find in Germany?).

The 1994 & '97 US pressings were done by DADC & every one I have seen has suffered the usual DADC US LD problems. A few of the others have issues including the German releases but with so many versions around good ones can be found (would help if you understand German though).

The Japanese release of the full mini-series on PILF-7355 is rather nice, original German dialogue with Japanese subtitles but it does not pop up very often for sale as far as I can see.

A superb feature.

I'm not really "into" WWII movies as a catagory. The vast majority of them, especially the Hollywood ones, glorify a fictional past. But there are many good ones. The standard patriotic flag waving propaganda stuff can suck it, but I really enjoyed:

Battle of Britain (ok, pretty patriotic, I admit)
Slaughterhouse 5
The Great Escape (an extremely mainstream hit, but done extremely well)
Grave of the Fireflies (ok, "enjoy" is maybe not the word)
Schindler's List (this one too)
The Wind Rises
Das Boot
Barefoot Gen (see: Grave of the Fireflies)

EDIT: I just realized this supposed to be for laser. In that case, substitute Johnny Got His Gun for The Wind Rises.

I can add

Emir Kustirica's Underground
Charlie Chaplin's The Great Dictator
Terence Mallick's Thin Red Line
Truffaut's The Last Metro
Stalingrad(1993)
Rosellini's Rome Open City
The Keep
