I've never been a big fan of streaming, downloads etc...
Got Netflix for some time now since my daughter has tv series for breakfast :)

Since I'm paying for it anyway,

I've been watching some series trough Netflix. Great way and dead cheap to explore new series.
I'm a Fargo lover so... one of the best series ever IMHO along with The Sopranos.

I bought myself the Fargo 1st Season Blu ray.
Netflix is great to investigate...

As far as movies go on Netflix... more older releases IMHO . Not really worth having Netflix. Might be better in the USA?

Use my Panasonic tv ( Dolby Digital) or Blu ray player when it comes to Dolby Digital + listening.
I do like the tv better PQ wise...

other fans around?

I like Netflix, especially for the cost. I mostly use it for television, since there are so many series I never really watched or made time for. Movies for me are hit and miss, mostly because the ones I really like I usually own in some way or another. But overall it's enjoyable and I'd recommend it.

The selection is much better in the US. I don't have Netflix my self, but some friends use proxy/VPN solutions to trick it into thinking you're located in the US. Thus allowing you to see the content.

The world of movie rights is a strange place...

I was one of the first members back in 2002, I remember their first streams. Past few years they lost licenses to a lot of good stuff. Now it's all box office flops and movies I have never heard. TV selection is OK but I remember better times. They have some exclusives like orange is the new black.

My biggest complain is the mega poor audio quality. They reduced the audio bitrate to 192kbps on 5.1 DD+. It's like people talking behind a fan. You wouldn't probably notice this on TV speakers.

Vudu and Amazon Prime are much better.

Everyone I know just use the built in speakers. Don't notice the low bitrate on those since they're already quite bad. I'm one of very few that have a seperate amplifier with speakers. I'm sure Netflix did a compromise when they reduced the bitrate. Most people don't have proper audio equipment anyway. Those who have good equipment (at least that I know), don't use streaming services.

It used to be 382kbps DD5.1 then they switched to 192kbps DD+5.1. Dolby claims DD+ is twice efficient but we know how that goes, they claimed their 382kbps DD was more efficient than 1.5mbps DTS back in those days.

I think DD+ is somewhat dynamic and not fixed bitrate like Dolby claims. The audio quality extra suffers when there is only people talking on the screen which proves that quite scenes have even lower bitrate than 192kbps. I also noticed netflix exclusives like orange is the new black, sense8 has this phenomena more pronounced than others. This might be a way of pushing people to buy the Blu-ray seasons.

Last time I watched was for the Netflix-only Marvel series Daredevil.

Next time will probably be for Marvel's Jessica Jones.

pretty much the same, only use netflix for series. My son loves it for all the kids stuff though.
Daredevil is great, watching it now - looking forward to Jessica Jones also.

I use a proxy service (unblock-us), the difference is huge in content between US and Swe.
