A couple of LDDb members pointed out two databases to me. The first was the UMD Database. They were really slow processing 9 submissions that I have that they were missing, but they have since added them - bringing the total number of UMD releases worldwide to 498. http://www.umddb.net/The DVD Aficionado Database is a good worldwide database for DVDs and Blu-Rays, and I have found a neat little trick for adding UMDs, VHS tapes, VCDs, etc. You have the ability to create multiple folders, so I save my DVDs to my DVD folder. For other formats, such a VHS, I find a DVD release for the title I have on VHS, and then send it to my VHS folder. Since you can only have a particlar release in one folder at a time I find a region 2 or 4 release and send THAT to my VHS folder. it works fairly well. http://www.dvdaf.com/I am Cessnaace at the UMD Database, DVD Aficionado Database, and YouTube. STAY AWESOME!

Whats the appeal of UMD? You can only watch them on a 3 inch screen, the cases look just like PS2 cases, and there's not even 500 of them.

are there really DVD aficionados out there? what is it about dvd that makes someone want to collect them rather than a format with superior picture quality (BD), and a format with a nostalgiac quality (CED/VHS/LD/Beta)?
I've said this before but I just hate DVD packaging. It's so cheap and I feel like no effort was put into it. if it wasnt so cheap and convenient, I wouldnt have any of them

Some that have had a short print run and never reprinted. The Anchor Bay DVD release of Candy is one. Others have some collectable supplements. I do want to get all of Arrow Video's special edition releases of horror movies from Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento and George Romero. They seem to put a lot of care into their releases like commissioning new cover art (painted artwork no less!) but also including the original poster art on the flipside of the cover so you can display whichever you prefer. They also have hours of supplemental materials like interviews and documentaries. Check them out here: Arrow Video CollectionOf course, you need an all region DVD player and either a player that can convert PAL to NTSC or a PAL compatible TV if you don't live in the UK!

Thanks for the link to Arrow Video. I have a multi-standard multi-region DVD player. I've got over 80 U.K. DVD releases now, and will be adding more. STAY AWESOME!
