Muppet Movie, The (1979) I had never watched it before, and I thought this was the Open Matte version, but I was told you could see puppeteers beneath the frame in that version, and I couldn't in this, so I guess it's only the Japanese copy that is Open Matte. Leviathan (1989) I had really high hopes for this one. Peter Weller starring, directed by the guy who did Cobra and Rambo: First Blood Part 2, music by Jerry Goldsmith and effects by Stan Winston. It was really boring though, and just a poorly written mix of Alien, The Thing, and The Abyss. Has an awesome final 5 minutes though, campily awesome anyways. |

I bought this recently in mint condition as I was a big fan of the series (and these last two episodes were my favorite in the entire series). If you haven't seen it and like sci-fi, space opera stuff like Battlestar Galactica your going to love this 5 season series. It had good acting and the scope of the story was truly "galactic" in size. I highly recommend picking up the entire series on DVD and spending a few months going through all the episodes, you won't be disappointed. Now there's taste. My 'Equal Favourite Along With Classic Start Trek' type show.... http://s283.photobucket.com/albums/kk29 ... ollection/ |

I liked the pictures of all your B5 LD's! |

The Last Man On Earth - With Vincent Price. Roger Corman's version of I AM LEGEND. White Zombie - With Bela Lugosi. Everything about Lugosi's performance marks him as a theatre actor and not a fillm one. His way-over-the-top gestures and mannerisms were so hammy it was unbelievable. Also, there is a logic-hole in the story...were they zombies because of a drug, or because he was a voodoo master? The story says 'drug' but his acting says 'voodoo master' Hmmm?! Tonight... Tarantula. |

One thing I learned today is that the Duke is "A-number one." Just got done with Escape from New York: Collector's Edition (1981) [ID2330SU] It's a very nice gatefold package, and has a good commentary tack as well. |

Sat and watched the U.S. cut of Highlander over the weekend. I'd only seen it once on a warn out rental VHS in Canada and I'd forgotten just how much the film had been sliced over there. I was shocked at the picture quality; the disc was released in 1993 but looked no better than an early Discovision title. I'm glad to finally have a copy of it in my collection as a curiosity but I don't think I'll be watching it too often. |

On Saturday night I watched "the terminator" THX edition, which is my first time. Last time I watched this movie was in year 1994 or so on a poorly dubbed VHS. |
