Went to my mom's house for her birthday. A niece of mine was there and running around like crazy as 7 year olds are wont to do. I pulled out a Charlie Brown Laserdisc for her to watch ( this one to be exact.) She was like "That's a big DVD!" She sat contentedly and watched both episodes on the disc. Afterwards she asked "do you have anymore of those big DVDs?"

These great actors will be missed. I loved both of those films, but my copy of Grumpier Old Men has some wicked rot, which is disappointing

I watched Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) [8764-85] yesterday, not the prettiest of transfers but always fun to watch. By the way, do the Star Wars Faces editions feature Dolby Pro Logic? The lddb entry says it does but the back of the packaging claims it's stereo. I don't currently have my player hooked up to the surround so I haven't checked yet.

I've seen Zombie Holocaust several times but hadn't seen the US cut called Doctor Butcher M.D. until today. Not much to say about this one, alternative synth score was awful and other inserted stuff didn't exactly make any good to movie either, intro was plain stupid and additional scene where Mrs Delli Colli stumbles into a trap turned to be more like an unintentional gag due the people suddenly wandering in a pine forest instead of tropical jungle...! Nevertheless, even when Ropponica release loses to Dragon's one in pretty much every mean it is still awesome piece of obscurity. Another one from the pile was taiwanese release of Ruggero Deodato's Bodycount, one off not in database yet. Being not among Deodato's best it falls into category of B-grade slashers with all its quirks and other discrepancies thus making me tempted to try it again with suitable amount of beer, release itself was uncut and in surprisingly decent quality albeit being fullscreen and showing notable print scratches during some of the scenes. Now, where are the other yet undiscovered Deodatos: Cut & Run? Off Balance? Dial: Help? Washing Machine? STEP UP WHEREVER YOU'RE HIDING!!!
