Legends of the Fall (1994) [HVMC-21588]Very fine movie, excellent video quality. It was the 4th from the last muse ld released. Its appearant they put a lot of effort into it. Zero compression artifacts, sharp, detailed. Very few speckles in opening and ending credits. I fooled my wife she thought it was hd hbo. Efm track was excellent. Very few pans to rear surrounds but front stage was very active with a lot of left and right steering. Film 3.5/5 Picture 5/5 Compression 5/5 Audio 4/5 Packaging 4.5/5 (no individual cover art per jacket) Re-watch value: low to mid

Totally agree. The Universal ones always look great. I was so bummed when HD DVD lost the format war.

Atlantis (1991) [PILH-1003]the very first minute is horrific picture quality. its very dark and that means a lot of noise/compression artifacts for muse. good deal of speckles. If you have not seen this muse disc before, an unanticipated fear surrounds you that this is a horrific transfer. Once the intro is over, things get better quickly. In fact picture gets really good. Now almost all scenes are bright underwater scenes and you get unbelievable detail out of the muse technology. The transition is from the worst muse release to arguably one of the best. You could easily fool someone that its a Blu-ray disc they are watching. Audio is 2ch dance track. Terrific music from Eric Serra and it sounds just as good as any prime recording. film 4.5/5 (its really a documentary and a good one) picture 5/5 compression 5/5 Audio 4/5 (it would be 5/5 if it was 3+1 dance) packaging 4.5/5 (single disc only, jacket cover art is same as slipcase) re-watch value: very high I think its a great demo material. most demo discs are $200-400 and only contain 15-30 mins of video. This is a full length feature with amazing picture and sound for the same amount or less. You just have to skip the first few minutes when you demo it to someone.
