Saw the new Star Wars movie on Friday. Gotta say it didn't feel much like a Star Wars movie. I heard they did some reshoots on this as the execs also felt it lacked the feel of a SW film. Played more like The Dirty Dozen to me. Not a bad film and I think a lot of movie goers will like it. Just lacks the charm of the originals. |

The shaky camera movements bothered me a bit. Big budget movie, and they couldn't afford a proper camera stand? Guess shaky handheld movements is fashionable these days. See it all the time in sitcoms and such on TV. I do agree, it didn't feel like Star Wars to me either. Not sure how to describe it, but the older movies have a more storytelling feel to them. Rogue One is part of an anathology series, not directly part of a serial. So the next anathology movie will not pick up where this one left off. Perhaps it can be excused a bit. Regardless, I found the movie enjoyable. |

It has really big lasers.... I seen it Friday night and at the time I felt like it was somewhat lacking all be it I do think it saved itself in the last 40 minutes or so. BUT since then it has grown on me and I think it does stand up well as a good film in the Star Wars universe. Its a different Star Wars film and shows a more aggressive side to the rebels. Its more about them vs the empire rather than any Jedi involvement. I need to give it another watch to be honest, to make my mind up about it. |

All I know is I checked my watch twice in the first hour. The first half drags something awful. |

Good day Guys, A dear Friend booked two seats at the Reading Showcase Cinema for a 00:30 am Showing. The electric fully recline-able leather seats in all 12 theaters is great £10 each ticket booked online. I was impressed with how this movie was done and the digital rendition of Peter Cushing and a young Princess Leia were superbly well crafted. Pilots pilots and characters . who were in a new hope were there as well, and I thought this untold story of the people who were involved with obtaining the death star plans / plots ect were welcome. A little slow to begin with but it captured the mood, and so I was please and so was my Friend. The picture and sound dialogue and discrete quality surround was also good Kind Regards to everyone and hope you are all well. |

After the bitter let down by episode 7, found my self hoping for the best yet preparing for the worst here. Glad to report that overall I enjoyed Rogue One. People related that the first part of the movie dragged a bit. I did not experience this. Felt that the build up was in step with the advancing of the story quite nicely. Very amazed at the CG Tarkin and Lea characters as well as the cameos by the "original" squadron pilots that contributed to terminating the death star in ep. IV. In my opinion the best part of the film was Vader going ham at the entrance to the rebel blockade runner..... Saber, force attacks, and sheer terror of those poor rebel troopers got the pulse going a bit ..... (wished for more of that if a critique is needed anywhere.) James Earl Jones, wow, not in a light year did I expect to hear him as Vader in another installment........ Disney cheese did give off an aroma here and there, however the skills inherent in a good script and keen director prevailed overall imo ........ I can with a good conscience recommend this film ....... |
