What an absolute waste of time and money. This is a terribly put together disc and a totally wasted opportunity by paramount. In my opinion they totally missed when it comes to all star trek laserdisc bit this one stands out as it wants to be a special edition.

A 15minute introduction by Leonard Nimoy is nice but with no chapters your forced to watch it every time then because of this the last 15-20 minutes of the film is on side 3 but they didn't even bother to go with cav so you get a very short clv disc.

If it were me I would of either put more of the ending on a 3rd side and made it cav or better still put the Nimoy bit on the 3rd side in cav and put it with some production stills.

I paid £20 for this disc and feel ripped off. I feel sorry for any poor person that bought this back at release.

The Trek milking cash cow, what else can I say? I think those same extras few minutes is on one of the DVD's or bluray's?

Were there any other features besides the introduction? I would agree the Trek films were generally bare bones discs. The first one, "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" looks like it was dubbed from a third generation VHS with no attempt to remaster.

The early TMP issue was probably from a 1" tape source or worse UMatic - most of the early Paramount disks don't look that great.
