i've already got a lot of holy grails in my collection, from the World is not Enough to American Beauty to the Sixth Day... but if you're asking what i'm really still looking for is:

End of Days

Some things to really treasure are both of the squeezed T2's, these ones are also real treasures in my opinion.
I just love these gatefold artworks... who doesn't ;)

Hello Laserlord,

I cannot believe it, you have one of the titles that I cannot have at present (as it's reserved until paid for; Sixth Day new un opened) The price of which is sky high, but I want this title and that's that.

I have the title that your looking for but, I shall not be selling, as this was one of two that were for sale when I travelled 60+ miles there and back to purchase it.

I genuinely hope that you are able to get hold of this thou at some stage.

I also have the Squeezed version of Cutthroat IsLand that i'm looking forward to receiving, hopfully with the sixth day.

DARK CITY DTS. . . . . . .I have been trying to get hold of for many years and, I will only accept a top quality item (well looked after & in pristine condition.)

TITAN A.E. DD I will only accept a top quality (well looked after pristine condition item)

I reserved TITAN once but never got round to purchasing, as other priorities came along, but it will happen at some stage.

Regards to all

Happy viewing
:)

I've had a few holy grails over the years. My first was the THX Star Wars trilogy, that I bought in 2003. Then it was Blade Runner: The Criterion Collection and No Holds Barred, both of which I found in 2004. Then it was the Pioneer Special Edition of 1776, that I finally got in 2009. Then it was Alice in Wonderland: Exclusive Archive Collection, The Disneyland Anthology and The Complete Show Boat that I found this Summer on eBay. After that I was really overjoyed to find the original Jane Fonda's Workout, that I had been looking for on VHS for years after reading about its legendary status as the bestselling video of the early 1980s, on laserdisc, along with Jane Fonda's Workout Challenge.

I'm really not sure what my holy grail is after acquiring those. There are things that I would like to have but nothing I like search ebay regularly for as I did those things. However the great thing about film is that I'm always learning about more things I need to see.

Might not be a holy grail for some, but I got a Flintstones special edtion 4LD box set for 22.00 which is the cheapest I've ever seen it.

Flintstones Collection, The: Special Edition [ID2818TU]

It's in the mail to me now, and I hope it doesn't get damaged. Christmas time parcels fly through the post faster and rougher then usual.

I would suggest you to try to get your hands on a copy of ragewar (i don't think it's on LD available)
The score is also WASP if i recollect it correctly..
I was just referring to it somewhere else on the forum as being a decent 80's b-movie ...

regards Ed

Lol, Dungeonmaster - Ragewar. Had a good time in that movie when it came out, very very good time, lol.

My holy grail is the Kolchak Night Stalker/Night Strangler japanese only pressing. I got the regular series on laserdisc but that particular disc has eluded me. I've never seen it up on ebay. There are others but that is the one that's bugging me the most.

My holy grails are:

Red Spectacles, The (Jigoku no banken: Akai Megane) (1987) [BELL-127]
Stray Dog Kerberos Panzer Cops (Jigoku no banken: kerubersu) (1991) [BELL-475]

Found the Stray Dog disc about a year ago and the seller asked if there's anything else I might be looking for. Told him about the Red Spectacles release still missing in my collection and he was like: "Oh of course, I got one of these too if you like".... made my day...

If it's not in this data base, it usually means it didn't come out.

One title I would love to get is the Urusei Yatsura Perfect TV Collection, a massive 50 disc set spread across two 25 disc boxes. This UY box must be the ultimate old school otaku status symbol, with the few lucky enough to afford it back in the day shelling out thousands for a copy. The UY50 goes for little on Yahoo Japan these days, but the cost to ship such a monster from Japan makes YJ an untenable option. I recall that someone did get the last UY50 which showed up on ebay from a seller in Hong Kong, with free shipping! I was able to get the Maison Ikkoku LD24 off of ebay for next to nothing pretty recently, so it's only a matter of time before the LD50 surfaces once more...

That was me. Mind you, it wasn't exactly cheap after all.
So the "free shipping" was at least partially included in the item price.
Tho the funny thing was, after buying the set in the first email, the seller
said something like "i hope to keep the parcel below 10kg" which made me
think that he actually never knew the weight of the collection.
In the end the parcel was something like 22kg, and shipping must have
cost much more than what he anticipated.

On YJ many UY50 sets start at really low prices, so you have a good chance
to score a set, and then have it surface shipped (I'd say 22kg is the kind of
weight you can start your calculating with). Just pay attention about cosmetics.
Many sets have really ugly dirt or mold on top. And as these are plain white,
anything dirty looks bleh.

I bought my MI24 Box from a guy in Belgium.
This was free shipping too, and I thought I had made a real bargain.
A week later the set shows up on ebay.com and sells for next to nothing.

I think the way laserdisc is going, there will be no such thing as a cheap disc in future It'll be different degrees of dearness.

I just checked the Japan Post rate schedule, and 22kg seems to cost 10,950 yen for surface delivery to the states, which is actually a pretty good price. The UY50 really is cheap on YJ, here is a mint example with the original shipping box which only went for 9000 yen: http://y.aucfan.com/aucview/yahoo/r90079788/# I noticed the cruddy looking white tops on some of the boxes, so pix of the top are imperative. I wonder which bidding service is best at handling bulky items like this without charging an excessive amount; it would be nice to have a contact in Japan to pick one of these up and send it to me without inflating the shipping price.

Yeah, I was surprised myself to get the MI24 on ebay from the original owner, who purchased it new, for such a great price.
