| Post subject: | What Is This Japanese Movie Called? | ||
The English language title for this Japanese film (on the sleeves) is Everybody loves somebody somewhere, Everybody loves something sometime. I can't find information on it anywhere. It's an interesting film, with most of the dialog in Japanese and the rest in Chinese, German and English. It combines drama, comedy, war/action, drug use and some brief female topless dancing. Oh, and it's a musical. Presented on VHD in Widescreen.

The cover says 上海バンスキング (Romaji: Shanhai bansukingu). In English it's called Shanghai Rhapsody and was made in 1984. |

I just found this out but on Google translate there is a feature to "write" the characters in with your cursor and it will translate it for you. Really cool for some of the harder Kanji. It also works with your smartphone or tablet if you have one. |

On a smartphone you can take a photo with the camera and it will OCR. Just discovered that myself a couple of weeks ago, it worked quite well to translate some bits of a Japanese manual quickly. Could be tedious with a large amount of text as you need to do small sections at a time. |

Yes, forgot i tried it a few times, but i had trouble if the text was vertical rather than horizontal but it does work. |

I get an 'align text' box on the camera screen which can be rotated by titling the phone. Not that I actually tried translating any vertically written text...... |
