Okay, turns out it's not the source of his speech against altering movies (that one's from five years later), but he does say this in it which seems a little hilarious in hindsight;

i have that one on VHS, my mom taped it off of HBO in the late-80's, when then they aired it and RotJ back to back;

Actually, that's my handwriting.

mom originally had written very lightly in pencil, -in case she eventually decided to re-record the tape, a bit of a habit of hers, at the time-
and, decades later, it had begun to fade towards incomprehensibility.

well, the cassette had certainly turned out to be a keeper, so it was about time it finally got permanently marked...

i just picked up some cool star wars documentary the making of star wars special efx of the empire strikes back and classic creatures of return of the jedi the japanese versions.
