I just think Riphagen is an excellent recommendation and is available on Netflix in all regions. Should you have Netflix don't miss it. It's really really good. I loved it !!!

Watched Up From the Depths (1979) tonight. Got the limited Scream Factory blu-ray. With a score of 2.7/10 on IMDb, it is obvious that this isn't a masterpiece. However, I found it very entertaining. The "it is so bad it is good" type of movie. Looks like the dialog were dubbed over for some reason. Lips moving without speech and such sometimes. A bit funny. Really cool cover artwork for this movie. Wish it were available on LD.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979) PAL [LVG 1015]Picture and colours not bad for this 500 year old laserdisc well it might make it into the 25th century? Sound stereo is rare one and rather bass punchy with decent low end down to 30Hz and highs up around a limited 8KHz. Occasional sound pans though to left/right and little matrix surround use. The centre + phase is a little out and leaks into the matrix surrounds with typical dialouge heard. A little minor laser rot on side 1 before laser switches over to side 2 some laser-rotting slips in towards the end that is a bit distracting with image stuttering as if the laser is trying to struggle to keep good tracking of the disc but makes it though to the end with the sound with minor noise underneath soundtrack. Side two was looking promising with a free laser-rot at the start why does it always often have to show up towards the end? There appears to a small scratch in the disc on side 2 as I guess the program content doesn't quite reach the outer end of the disc but slightly inside where the scratch mark is might be cursing the other picture distraction, if I can buff the scratch mark out might play a bit stabler without the picture wobbling though the end credits. No reel change over dots noticed. Turned the fader up +10 at end so the laser rot on the FM analog can be heard as well as seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Db7y95500tU
