Even though on paper the Smurf version is 78,000,000 times "better" than the LD and people who go on and on about specs say it's "impossible" for LD to look good, in real life, it actually shows MORE DETAIL in the right places. Another drawback of the SP of Blade Runner is it's so sharp it shows the mat painting backgrounds as obviously mat paintings, something Ridlely never intended, coz in analogue they blend man, they blend, naturally and beautifully, like art and life, not like edge enhanced super hi def resolution. We don't watch resolution, we watch movies

We don't watch resolution, we watch movies It's really hard to compare the Final Cut of Blade Runner (which featured an all-new colour timing) on BD or DVD compared to the LD releases of the film. The Final Cut was obviously never released on LD, if you are going to compare Blade Runner on LD vs BD than choose a cut that is available on both formats.

Why not? 95% of the movie is the same on both formats. There was a thread where we directly compared them and my criterion LD won on detail hands down.

I'm not talking about content, I'm talking about colour timing. The Final Cut is graded quite differently to the other cuts, even on Blu-Ray the visual difference in colours of say the Theatrical Cut vs the Final Cut is quite noticeable. Check out the difference here - https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?go=1&a=0&d1=5714&d2=5715&s1=53561&s2=53612&i=18&l=0No. Your caps of the criterion LD were as I recall blown out in brightness, contrast, colour and sharpness resulting in a torched up, noisy mess, which we established was more a result of your TV settings rather than the LD itself.
