However when she works, she REALLY works, most beautiful picuture I've ever seen on LD, or ever in all of history: Don't most Sony players have a bad rep?

Heavily recommending Stranger Things. This thing is so much a piece of love for the 80's that I was almost expecting to see a LD player showing up somewhere! One can always dream Julien

It's almost a meme. In my actual real life experience Sony players have far better and more reliable audio than Pioneer. Sony players I've had (x3) have all had solid, reliable playback from the beginning to the end and through the flip. Can't say this for any Pioneers I've had (x4) Sony players I've had have all had drive door/tray gear issues however. No Pioneers have. But since I have a lot of music discs AQ is my priority and even when my LD-S9 isn't "helicoptering" the audio is inferior to what you get out of any Sony I've had. Ideal situation for me is the best Sony I can find with no door/tray issues. Grail is a HIL-C2EX or HIL-C1 Also Sony player chassis just look better. IMO.

Watching Man with the Golden Gun. 007. Cool! which type of cable, Normal or High-End? that would be very interesting for me to know. I use a SCART cable from AudioQuest, the model is SCART-3. A Brilliant video cable!

A Brilliant video cable! high end wires from Supra, QED, Ixos, Audioquest are great stuff high end S-video and scart cables are cheap to buy, better get good stuff for affordable prices, not many besides us LD-fans use these old skool connectors.

Saw Cinerama Adventure recently as it was included with the Blu-Ray of How the West Was Won and found the format to be so interesting that I immediately bought Cinerama Holiday on Blu-Ray as well. Will watch it very soon.

Batman vs Superman dawn of dire. It was dreadful. Sound mix was boring hardly any serious use of directional dialouge panning on all 7 directional channels left me feeling like it was a mono mix. This bluray is fit for the cat litter tray!
