I prefer the Theatrical version to the Director's Cut. |

When I finally saw it I didn't think the theatrical version was as bad as everyone said, and nowadays with the restored workprint version widely available I think it deserves re-accessing. It's got it's flaws but it's still a solid entry in the series, and far from the worst in the franchise. To be honest I think the main reasons people really hate Alien 3 are because they kill off the characters from Aliens and the re-designed alien. Given that I never warmed to the marine characters in Aliens I didn't mind the guy dying, and death is the central theme of the film so Newt dying fits perfectly. As for the alien design, well the one for Alien 3 was done by Giger himself, no one complained when someone else redesigned them for Aliens. |

Movies I don't like, but eveyone loves Titanic (I mean it's made billions so a lot more people like it than hate it) The Blair Witch Project (often called the scariest movie ever--I found it boring and nausea inducing) The Devil's Rejects (was supposed to be 10x times better than RZ's House of 1000 Corpses, but was just a bad "homage" to Last House on the Left) Anything by Kevin Smith (I'm supposed to like this guy's movies by default since he's a Jersey Guy and I'm from NJ, but they don't do anything for me. I don't get the hero worship he gets in Nerdy fan circles) Almost anything with Ben Stiller (with the exception of Tropic Thunder--as the rest of the supporting cast made me kinda forget about Stiller--I just don't get why people find him so funny) Casino Royale (2006) (Craig makes a decent bond, but I wasn't very entertained by this movie very much) Quantum of Solace (hated this one even more than CS--good God, what HORRIBLE cinematography!) Movies I like, but everyone hates Can't think of any at the moment. I'll fill this in later. |

I generally dislike stories about perennial buttmonkeys like Dante Hicks, whose entire purpose in life seems to be at the receiving end of misfortune, most often due to no fault of his own. Who the hell finds that entertaining? He's not even a character of questionable personality like the cast of Seinfeld who at least more often than not had it coming. It's made even worse by his friend being the polar opposite; Randal is a massive jerk and he never suffers any repercussions for his actions. |

Riddick films are only great when you come home at 3 or 4 am drunk and turn on cable to watch something till you sober up a bit before you go to sleep. |

So not necessarily underrated but I'll call these films guilty pleasures for me. Not particularly great or even good movies, but are fun, and maybe best enjoyed after a nice pour of a tasty single malt scotch. I really enjoyed the national treasure movies as well. They were just fun, entertaining movies. I've never actually seen any of the leprechaun movies. None of them looked very good. Wild wild west was terrible. Easily one Will Smith's worst movies. Mortal Kombat is also a guilty pleasure of mine. Street fighter was also terrible Bad Boys were fun movies Con Air was pretty meh... watchable but just barely I never liked Starship Troopers Commando is another movie I have never actually seen I don't even really remember anything about Deep Blue Sea other then Samuel L Jackson getting eaten by the shark rather unexpectedly Point Break was pretty good Overall I'd say you have a fair list of guilty pleasure movies |
