Read you firehorse. If you see something special in fightclub that's all that matters.

I watched Heat recently. It was better than expected. Might have to grab the LD at some point just because.

It's been on my LD wishlist for a long time. I want that firefight in analogue.

Watched Kingpin and Blade Runner over the last couple days. LDs from the recent lot.

The Proscan PSLD46 is a nice player. It's a rebadge of something else right?

Just looked at a picture, sort of looks like a 50X or even a 60X 70X type since it has that S-video

Lawnmower Man uncut

Big difference and improvement from the theatrical version.

I'm watching Hokuto no Ken 2 and the flaws in the sequel series are already pretty apparent.

so for the fourth I decided to watch For All Mankind which I enjoyed and the extras are great. There are innumerable films and yet we only see a few and over and over again. It was great to see a different side of everything and it made it more interesting.

Which release? Looking at the Voyager SE it seems to have different features than the recent Criterion BD release.

Watched Beauty and the Beast and Nightmare Before Christmas. Both looked great on LD. Tried to watch Aladdin but the disc was damaged.

I find it just...impossible to enjoy Aladdin. I liked it as much as most people do when it came out. I think I paid to see it twice in the theater. I still wasn’t over Disney at that point, but I worked at a video store where we played movies all day and they had to be G rated so basically it was a lot of Disney and Aladdin was the newest one on tape at the time.

Those damn songs, that broadway stuff, hammered home with %110 power at all times, the crap CG, the bland as hell desert colored everything. I enjoy a lot of Disney movies that people seem to dump on, like the 70s stuff, non-peak stuff, but honestly I still enjoy The Rescuers or Aristacats. I’d never willingly watch Aladdin again though. Not unless I live to be 300. Not unless if somehow un-ages itself but at this point it seem to age a decade every year. I watched it a week or so ago and...I’m glad my kid is more into Looney Toons and anime because sadly I’m not going to be able to tolerate that thing playing around here. :)

It’s not Robin, btw, I always loved Robin, even the bad movies. The Robin Williams stuff is fine. It’s really everything else. That corny plastic gravy train they completely sold themselves too once Little Mermaid hit.

I can't remember the last time I watched it. I wouldn't say I liked it as much as the two I did watch (NBC is particularly a favorite that goes after some surprising issues for a Disney film) but I don't remember hating it.

Aristocats is a good one for sure.

As far as later Disney goes I actually really liked The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Do some people have a big issue with Robin Williams? I always generally enjoyed him.

Yep, I have a huge problem with Robin Williams, unfunny and annoying.

To give you an idea of who I find funny: basically anyone else from the 80s. From Chevy Chase to Martin Short to Steven Martin to Bill Murray to Dave Letterman to Chris Elliot to Garry Shandling, but, no, never Robin fu'n Williams...

I adored the Rescuers when I was a little kid, have to hunt down a copy, haven't seen it since I was about 8..then again what if it doesn't live up to my image of it? It has a special place in my memory..could be ruined if I hate it as an adult..

Anyone else been in this scenario? You love something as a kid, then regret rewatching it as an adult?
