Just streamed Year of the Gun, interesting film, sex scenes were a little too much for some reason, had a feel like Sorcerer the entire time. Keeping you on the edge of your seat at times. Bad part is that there were no subs during the Italian speaking scenes at all, don't understand why this was even a good idea. What reasoning was there to not put subtitles on these DVDs or streaming???????? Thanks for laserdiscoking that it was intriguing to make me watch it. laserdiscoking wrote: Year of the Gun (1991) [91456] LD has all the Italian language parts (a significant chunk of the film) subtitled in English. None of the DVD releases subtitle the Italian scenes, which makes the film almost unwatchable. On a side note, the LD is also OAR 1.85:1 and the DVD versions are 1.66:1

I will look out for this

it's also singularly and uniquely striking to a veteran Anime fan, as the movie so plainly demonstrates precisely where BUBBLEGUM CRISIS and many other OVA Anime classics of the 1980's drew the bulk of their their inspiration from... Didn't Megazone 23 straight-up feature the poster in the background?

It was a wonder Saturday night, Everything is sorted for the week. We decide to spin a laserdisc. All is well in life, R7G is lit up with its power converter glowing softly and the VSA-E07 ready for the sound. Decide on Dante's Peak https://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/07833/43311/Dantes-PeakConstant horizontal white small lines and audio drop outs. I guess my first laserrotted disc? So got on bluray and after some popcorn and beer its not a bad watch. Great sound

Yep. Try get the Signature Collection or better yet, the DTS version! I needed to watch something light hearted so I threw on The Wedding Singer DTS. I havent seen it in a long time so I wasnt sure what to expect. Its not my favourite Adam Sandler film on Laserdisc. I think Happy Gilmore is a funnier comedy with more memorable lines and characters. This was more of a romantic comedy than just a comedy with romantic elements. Still, it was funny and it made me laugh. Drew Barrymore is absolutely gorgeous and Sandler gives a convincing performance. The picture on this late release is as good as it gets. The pastel colours of the backgrounds and the interior furniture are beautifully rendered. You would have to look very hard to see noise and running through the CII absolutely rock solid with no aliasing. Very pleasing. The Wedding Singer is not a musical but its a musical film, so the soundtrack played a big part in my enjoyment. The DTS soundtrack maintained its presence throught the film. From the opening scene you just hear the bass pumping with the surrounds engaged creating a very warm soundfield. Vocals came through crisp and clear. It was just overall very lively.
