I am trying to track down a 1988/89 Criterion catalog and 1982-84 Pioneer catalogs. If anyone has a copy they could scan I would really appreciate it.

Nice to see that someone had the forethought to archive that page, even if Criterion didn't. I have a printed out list that I thought I got from Criterion's site that I have been using as a checklist. I don't see it on the linked page. Anyone, one disc that shows up is Salt of the Earth as title #213. I've never seen a copy of it on Ebay after nearly 10 years of looking and it isn't in the database. It isn't listed at the link you provided. Does anybody know if it was ever actually released?

I've also always been curious as to why the Rolling Thunder titles like Chungking Express and Switchblade Sisters are listed?

Salt of the Earth was released but not with a Criterion number at first. It was originally released as a Voyager title like For All Mankind. It's original catalog number was VP1005L and it is in the database as a Voyager title. It originally appeared in Criterion's 1987 catalogs. I have most of Criterion's 1980's & early 90's catalogs and have never seen it listed with a Criterion number as you mention. It may have been given a number after the fact. They did that with a few titles that were either originally issued by Voyager or were never given a number like Lola Montes.

Thanks for the explaining the mystery. The database shows Lola Montes at #12. I'll check my copy when I get home to verify.

Yes, they gave Lola the number #12 after the fact and was used on future re-releases. The original blue cover does not have a number. The Red Balloon, Help, & Black Orpheus are in the same category. Those four releases had a 2000 number attached to them different than any other Criterion title. Search Criterion in the database and then organize by cat number and you will see what I mean.
