In the UK, Encore Entertainment released a handful of European/indie titles from Artificial Eye Video, with covers matching the style of Artificial Eye's VHS releases:

I've got a few of these and was wondering what others exist. All of them seem to correspond to VHS releases, although there's only an EExxxx number on the LaserDisc sleeve rather than the ARTxxx numbers AE used.

These were definitely released:

These are dubious:

Are there any more of these?

Some digging in the Internet Archive found an Encore Entertainment press release from 1996-01-30:

Quote:
Specialist laserdisc and video distributor, Encore Entertainment, has signed a licensing agreement with Artificial Eye to release 12 titles from its catalogue during the next year.

Every film will come with at least its trailer and be presented in its original Widescreen ratio. Nikita and Subway, both directed by Luc Besson (The Big Blue, La Femme Nikita, The Professional), are expected to be amongst the first releases which will be timed for February onwards.

Suggested retail prices for Nikita and Subway will be £26.99 and £31.99 respectively.

"We are very happy indeed to have signed this deal with Encore Entertainment. Encore is the natural choice for us as it will allow our films to be taken to home viewers in a supreme quality package. This is our first venture with laserdiscs and we are extremely hopeful that it will boost the laserdisc market as a whole," commented John Beasley, Head of Video and Laserdisc at Artificial Eye.

Stephen Haynes, Managing Director, Encore Entertainment added: "This is once again great news for Encore Entertainment and our customers as we will be able to offer some brilliant titles from Artificial Eye's extensive catalogue. We will endeavour to give each film the usual Encore treatment that is now our trademark."

Another press release says Amateur (1994) [EE 1119] was released in April 1996.
