Droids had unique character designs. I recall the theme being catchy too so I assume Saban wrote it.

I still haven't seen the Droids cartoon. I did buy that huge hardcover book Marvel put out that has every single issue (all like what, seven of them?) of Droids as well as Ewoks.

It's kind of funny that one of the most valuable Star Wars figures is from the Droids toyline, too...

Boy was I wrong, Stewart Copeland sang and co-wrote it with some other guy from what I’m reading here.

I’d be way more concerned about learned the disc was cracked only after opening it. That has happened to me and it sucks. I think this is a much greater likelihood if you aren’t the sort to spend your money chasing Eraser or Dante’s Peak whatever (it seems most famous rotters are garbage films for some reason.) A shrink wrapped jacket can make a completely useless disc look wonderful.

Maybe they're just really, really anal retentive about the burnt-in subtitles?

But yeah, I don't understand why someone would go through that kind of effort for freakin' Air Force One or Eraser. If I really wanted Heavy Metal on LD, I'd just get the JP release, too.

TPM I got is perfect :D

A used CU-CL0051 remote is now on the way in the mail.

Also ordered another dozen or so titles @ $3aud each...more Star Wars OT (different IDs) and some other stuff. Mostly Japanese but there are a couple of US titles (hopefully the latter aren't rotters).

Well it's listed as "low probability" and considering it's one of the most owned titles in the database, I'd be surprised if it weren't.

What's the deal with U.S. Heavy Metal? I have a copy from that lot.

It was sealed so the seller hadn't checked it.

It's on the top rotters list.

On a side note, apparently there's also a French VOST release of that movie.

My copy of US Heavy Metal has zero rot. It’s the only copy I’ve ever seen.

Heavy Metal USA release is the only disc I ever bought new that then rotted really badly.
Went to watch it a few years after buying new and it was horrible.

Grasshopper told me his copy is rot free too. But I recommend the Japanese release as its open matte, you get more animation on the top and bottom,
it does have burned in subs but if you zoom to 16x9 then you won't see the subs.

Really the best version on LD.

If you're just gonna zoom it to 16x9 what's the point in it being open matte? Considering you can just get it on blu-ray now, there's really no reason to get the LD unless you're just really anal about the audio mix or you absolutely must have it in open matte. Personally I have no idea why they can't include the original stereo mixes on these things. I'm kinda curious about that French LD I mentioned.

Well I guess that will have to be the next LD I fire up so I can see if it has rot.

Yeah, I carried the box under one arm so the whole lot wasn't heavy at all.

Edit:
Temple of Doom [LV 1643-2WS] is US release but has 2x Japanese foil stickers on it...widescreen & caption

I've been thinking about getting some James Bond on LD myself...

Is that definitely uncut P&S? I can see a couple of listings where the seller says it's WS :wtf:
