Either some pointless video because only the audio mattered or some visual sync?

The label says "digital audio disk" so it's a form of PCM video, where the digital data is encoded into the picture. Dunno why they did that in 1986, I guess they already had the equipment before CD pressings were possible?

But first submit it fully to the database, it would make a mysterious entry for the 60,000th LD!

I worked for a company called "Mouse Surplus" they bought stuff by the truckload sight unseen and sold it off to the public... one time we got a semi of media, tapes, LD, etc. and that was in it... So... I kept it... i'm working with some guys trying to figure out how the audio is encoded... but it SHOULD be the main show Multichanel audio that was synced with the 2x 70mm showscan projectors that ran the show... I know the ride and it's systems alot... just no clue about how to decode it...

Just a thought, it may run similar to Starblade and Galaxian³. They used Laserdisc players, projectors and custom sound systems too. Though I don't think the audio played on a separate disc it's possible it was encoded the same way?

A guy in Belgium bought the 8 player theatre a few years ago and put it in his home. It's all documented online so that may help with the audio in some way?

Galaxian³ was an absolute monster experience. Namco, now Namco Bandai, had a theme park called Wonder Egg in the early 1990's that was home to a 28 (or was it 32?) player version of the game. Same rig as the 8 player theatre.

I ended up doing it.

Here comes our 60,000th LD in database!

D/L Magic Journeys Mainshow - Digital Audio Disc #1 (1986) [---]

I don't think we'll ever make it to 70,000 so we can pop up champagne now :-)

You wouldn't be interested in digitizing these to preserve them would you? I'd be willing to do the work for you, I'd love to see all of these.

Awesome stuff to have for sure and thanks for coming here to share with us. If you happen to be in the LA area I would be glad to help you sort out any of this stuff in whatever way I was able to.

If not, please at the very minimum upload them to YouTube so we can see the content.

Wherever you are, maybe find someone with LD-Decode capabilities, so a full raw RF capture of the disc can be made. Then, it would be easier for people to work on the decoding, because the rf image could be shared.

This is just me brainstorming, but maybe it used the same type of PCM digital audio that was used with this old VHS tape PCM digital audio system?

Techmoan - Technics SV-P100

I mean by the dates of the actual attraction, it seems like it predates 1441Kbps, 44.1KHz PCM audio that we are used to on the Compact Disc (and CD didn't make its debut until that same year) so a digital audio delivery system like that one would be one of the few that would be available at the time.
