i can't believe that much for titan AE i have seen art by real artists sell for the same or less than that asking price. o.k so it's a rare disc, but it's not like you can't get the film. i can understand paying money on a disc that there is NO dvd or anything else of but not something like that. even 300 is a lot for a disc, it would be different as a box set or something else. and 6G for that other one?? it's not like some of the "rare" discs that we all own that are not and will never be on DVD or anything else ever again.

I shall have the TITAN Laserdisc some day, I have come close to owning this on two occasions now so it cannot be to far off. The only thing that concerns me about owning this is the price that I may end up paying for this. When this title arrives on Blu-Ray I shall definately purchase it. Regards to all

Will come a time when they will not be offered up as often as they have been of late ! Sealed rarities will surface with even less frequency. It's just the nature of collectibles and time. Ask anyone into antiques, especially toy antiques...... I hope he gets his listed price ! Can not go to Walmart and buy one of those babies...............
I do support yazorin in going to Japan and doing some digging.............LoL That is my game plan sooner then later. limited like a Norman Rockwell piece of hand drawn art, the guy is no longer alive. or limited like land? this is a piece of plastic and aluminium, ok it was limited but to 5 think a little, ok you want the rare disc, ok you want to complete your collection but 2G 6G that's just stupid. get a better player for 1G or something else. don't forget when X-men came out i was stupid and only bought 1 from a store in boston who was closing out on them for 25 bucks, they had a lot of them back in 2002.

rein-o, A Rockwell, piece of land....Not that kind of limited,Sir. Limited,as in the dvd format taking over the market and limited as in not risking producing many because the LD format is scheduled for termination.
As all may know : Scarcity, supply / demand, establishes pricing in general and influence economic outcomes. Economical Despotism is to blame in my opinion. The value of currency rises and falls on a daily basis due to factors to myriad to list. All these influences tend to either push prices up or drive them down based on availability of goods and / or services.
Now how does one justify loads of cash for something worthless to many? It is COLLECTIBLE to the person..... It seems rein-o is missing the boat about subjective value. Several threads have attempted to spell this out already in the Forum.
When I was in the Antique business years ago,I saw big money put down for things that were worth dudley-squat to me. Now if rein-o construes putting down big coin on aluminum and plastic being stupid, how would he feel about the amount of money I witnessed change hands selling marbles over the years, which are glass, clay, sometimes steel and no aluminum at all. Circa 1880 clay ones were popular as well as circa 1920- 30's giant size cat's eye hand blown wonders. Not Rockwell's mind you,but very collectible just the same. We had a guy from Chicago who would drive once every few months to our store in MI and drop 1 K easy for MARBLES people. And that gentleman was far from stupid. Some folks were big into Ink Pens,Wedgwood pottery,Tiffany lamps, figurines of all types, old firearms, etc.....
I did business daily for five yeas working to help people find/sell their collectibles. Now some were more knowledgeable then others, and some new their histories better then average blokes yet all were collecting/selling things other people would consider garbage in one form or another. Had one guy come in the store and nearly break down crying because he had just put "tons" of stuff to the curb that we were selling in our little shop.
You can have your blu-ray rein-o, just try not to criticize those that feel strongly about collecting LaserDiscs after all stupid is such a strong word. It is their jones, I can think of much worse ones. Someone with money to burn is not stupid for "burning it" though I would haggle a bit if that option exists. I can understand silly to some extent but again, VALUE IS SUBJECTIVE PEOPLE !!!! Now if a purchase such as this causes one to loose their home then I agree....... that is stupid......LoL Thanks for the thread bubski !!!!

Most people are idiots when it comes to things like that. I think it was auction wars? Where a guy found 5000 elvis presley papers. Was like ohhh, they are worth 10 bucks each, woo hoo, I made 30k. Um, no, you just made all the others worthless, lol. I would have said nothing and dropped a few here and there. Made 100 here and there slowly. So yes, I agree. I have done something like that once. Found a bunch of valuable magazines, and I do mean hundreds. I slowly sold them over 10 years. Made a ton, I wasnt greedy and it was ok. Lol. Now to find the warehouse full of Titan AEs and The Cell

No, not that, they were worth 5 to 10 dollars each as it stood, you showed that you had 5k copies of it, and flooded the market, the price would go down. IE. The spongebob episode - Spongebob has a hat worth 1 million dollars. mr. crabs spends the episode trying to steal it from him. There was a warehouse find and said hat was now worthless. Same in the real world! If you cant learn it on spongebob it aint worth learning Or at least my 7 year old thinks so.
