I see it now that the Japanese released are the 111 minute version of the film, so I guess these are the USA theatrical versions.

After watching Brazil and realized I hadn't seen Time Bandits in years I decided to pickup a copy on DVD but I found out there is a theatrical release that had been cut by 6 minutes, seems like all LDs and DVDs or Blurays are the same 116 minute cut. So what this truly released in 110 minutes or is this just some wrong information on IMDB. |

It could be wrong. I've encountered that before on a film. I just don't know. I thought the Criterion was the theatrical but then I haven't watch or know Time Bandits that much but it's a good movie. |

Usually when Criterion is involved they don't release the theatrical but directors cut or directors approved, unless they have both versions in the set. I did pickup the Criterion DVD and its the full version but all the LDs every early pressing is 116 minutes so I can't see why they would have released an early LD uncut but not the USA theatrical cut of the film. A film like Highlander is theatrical on the first issue or possibly other issues of the LD but the DVD only has the extended or directors cuts. This makes sense as the LD was released early compared to the other versions. |
