Looking at the different releases of Tina Turner best of LDs in the very first photo above, all three covers lined up make it look like she is moving across the screen with more of her visible on each cover. Was there really that much attention to detail when the covers were being produced or was this pure chance? Anyway one more for the Tina laserdisc archive:

On the "Simply The Best" video collection disc, nice to remind the american disc has the bonus track "What's love got to do with it", which can not be found on the European and Japanese version This is not correct. What's love (secret version) is on all three releases. The US version has the (at that time) brand new videos of "Way of the world" ( 2 versions) and "I want you near me" which were not included on the European and Japanese release. They have never appeared on any other format and were also not included on the "Simply The Best '94" VCD ( which did have "I don't wanna fight") and the later DVD release.

laserdisc_fan wrote: Tina Turner must surely be the Number 1 contender for most music laserdiscs by one artist! Couldn't find any other single female (solo) artist beating her to the game (38 distinct LDs) but Elton John is right above at 40. Looking at groups, Bon Jovi (40) is on par with Elton but Queen (57) can't be beaten! All from: http://www.lddb.com/artists.phpJulien

This was a 70's soul compilation which featured some very cool Ike and Tina Turner footage. Interesting pic of her on the back too with some very obvious fillings in her upper teeth which were either replaced with white ones ot airbrushed out in later photoshoots!

I'm fond of the DTS version of live in Amsterdam. It sounds great. I like the rawness in which you can hear her roar through the center speaker ! It also looks like this is the only music concert released on ld in dts 5.1?

I'll spin her 1996 DTS concert tonight to her memories! Julien
