Great to see the band Europe reform in recent years after a long spell without any new music.

Here are the various laserdiscs that were issued:

The titles were quite confusing as the US edition entitled 'Europe - the final countdown world tour' was in fact the same as the Japanese edition entitled 'Europe - Perfect Live'.
A totally different Japanese edition entited 'Europe - the final countdown tour 1986' also exists featuring an earlier lineup of the band with John Norum. Be warned this earlier edition has a 99% chance of laser rot. I had to buy a pile of copies to get one I would consider acceptable!

To add further confusion as if there wasn't already enough no less than 3 Europe laserdiscs were issued with the same title - Europe in America with different packaging.

I bought Europe's 2006 album "Secret Society". I liked it quite a bit. "Always the Pretenders was a cool track. I was a big fan of Final Countdown and Out of This World when I was a kid. I taught myself to play several of their songs on my Casio keyboard by ear.

Since this band was usually more focused on nerdy topics like the ones you'd find on a power metal album (ninjas, indians, railbound murder mysteries, etc) the stuff ages a lot better than their moronic 80s hair metal contemporaries constantly talking about chicks and getting hammered. That stuff gets really old after a few decades. :) It also helps that Joey Tempest can actually sing without using that idiotic Cobra Commander voice that seemed to be almost required for 80s hair bands to succeed (ie: Guns and Roses, Cinderella, AC/DC, you name it, all would be good Cobra Commanders).

There is at least one VHD of Europe available:
Europe: The Final Countdown Tour 1986 (1986) [ODM-1053]

I like the fact the cover is completely different again:
