I think of all the 70s bands that I actually like Yes has the biggest selection of quality concert LDs. It’s not that I have any, but I know what the concerts are that they did since they are also on other formats.
While LD is famous for being a great music format there is a catch; it’s %99 top tier corporate stuff from the 80s and 90s. What was actually great about 80s/90s music wasn’t Spice Girls and Madonna and Whitney Houston it was the genres too poor to be on LD back then. Acid house, hip hop, ambient, etc. During the LD era most of the established acts from the 60s/70s were either in semi-retirement or producing the worst stuff they’d ever make in their careers (is: Bowie, Mike and the Mechanics, Owner of a Lonely Heart). I have a LD from The Dammed but it’s some late period concert that isn’t great. There are all sorts of Chuck Baker LDs but IIRC every one of them was recorded in the 80s when he was touring Japan which is...not prime Chuck Baker.
I look forward to this thread growing with some good suggestions, particularly in the progressive rock area. I’ll hype Yessongs since that’s most people’s favorite live Yes thing. It’s on LD in a number of versions, IIRC. Also a disc called Frontiers of Progressive Rock that has some classic TV promos from King Crimson, ELP, Yes, etc.
EDIT: BTW, there are several Floyd concerts on LD, personally I’d probably prefer any of them to the film version of The Wall which to me always seemed kinda too on the nose and corny compared to the earlier stuff.

Funny you should mention that, last night I was pulling all my AC-3 LD's into one pile and threw in a Olivia Newton-John / John Travolta hyped LD I came across. It was an older analog only LD that sucked so bad in both audio and content that I could only make it through one song.

Bored at work today so I jumped onto eBay to grab a few music LDs. $9.89 EA Fleetwood Mac disco vision documentary Fleetwood Mac tango in the night Fleetwood Mac in concert mirage tour 82 Fleetwood Mac the dance no cover disc only ABBA Disco vision Eagles hell freezes over no cover disc only Jimmy Buffett live by the bay no cover disc only $14.53 Madonna LIVE - The Virgin Tour $14.53 I try to stay below the $5.00 mark when buying LDs but music does seem to demand a little more. Just couldn't bring myself to grab some LD music without throwing Madonna into the mix.
