So sorry to hear of the passing of Ennio Morricone.

A genuine talent who has left us so much to enjoy.

Never knew much about how much he contributed to contemporary film and music.
A lifetime dedicated to his craft, exemplary.

Thanks for the notice je280.

Condolences to his family and close friends.

Heard about this yesterday. Sad times. He was a great movie composer and lived to the ripe old age of 91. It was cool to see Tarantino utilise his talents to score Hateful Eight for which he won an oscar.

I worked with a guy who collected his music. A real muso. He went from working a music store to working in an office with me but could never get a promotion because he didn't have a degree. He had looks though and was an actor on the side. He lived with his Mum. He used to pay hundreds for some Italian release CDs of Morricone.

I remember recording the intro of The Good the Bad and the Ugly to audio tape from VHS source way back in the 80's, just so I could listen to it on my Walkman. I think I had it on a compilation tape with AC/DC and a bunch of other hard rock/metal :P
Got played a lot on the bus trip home from school, I lived in the country so from school finish it would take like an hour to get home.
