All the individual selling this knew was that the collection use to be their cousins from years ago. Maybe they owned a bar, hosted karaoke or were just really this into it? ha.

I'm assuming this might is custom built, but I have no idea. If custom, it is made insanely well. All karaoke discs run from 1992-1996.

There are a lot of professional LD racks/loading shelves for sale in Japan as well.

Dozens/hundreds of disc, need several palettes to move them around.

Not easy to find a buyer for these! You would need to be a hardcore Enka/JPOP fan for the 60's/70's/80's period.

Oh wow, I had no idea about any of that. :)

I got them insanely, insanely cheap, lol.

I would definitely say they seemed surprised I even wanted the collection.

I have some of these too, though different wood/color. the ones I have were 100% from a Karaoke bar, as I bought them off the original owner and talked to him about Karaoke and LD.

Just posting some random findings for posterity and responding below: :)

Both, as stated, are made incredibly well, pretty sure these things will last another 100+ years, decent weight to them as well.

All the discs are like new condition and have a serial number of some sort near the disc label too.

One of my LD players does have karaoke functionality....I never thought there would be the day, lol.

I'm more of a old 70s/80s punk/ska/reggae music fan (or more simply & mainly The Clash, ha)....but I love early new wave and almost any music from the 1980s to early 90s. So, I'm stuck feeling like this is a gold mine find and waste of time given all the music options today.

Personally, the random find+curated collection is interesting I guess.

I would buy something like this if i found it locally on the cheap.

I'm sure one of my LD players is bound to have Karaoke functionality.

Do any have Mic inputs? It's not the same fun without a mic.

If it’s a karaoke deck it has mic inputs.

Regardless, any player will play these. Just get another ‘oke machine of some kind or just an amp and mic and set it in between your speakers.

I think my Denon La-2100 has a Mic Input, I'd have to dig it back out to check though.
