I have a Marantz LV520 (D504/D604 clone) that did not come with the remote. I'm currently using a Harmony with the LV520 code set, but it lacks Frame Advance Step, which is making it VERY difficult to get to the correct frames on Video Standard for calibration. I've had a little luck with quickly cycling play/pause on the front panel, but it's extremely hit-or-miss (I basically got lucky and hit pause on the combined Color/Hue/Pluge pattern... so I was able to do Color/Hue/Brightness and had to eyeball Contrast).

I also tried a handful of Pioneer code sets of the era on the Harmony (D504, D604, D704) and none worked at all, even for basic playback control, though they did have the Step function. Does anyone know what code set the Marantz LV520 uses and what Pioneer (or other) models I should try on the Harmony to hopefully get a fully working code set? Or, as a last-ditch, what remote to look for on eBay for full functionality? I'm hesitant to buy a remote since I worked through the calibration already and basic playback controls are fine on the Harmony as-is, but I would like to have a full control option of some sort.

If like the LV510, Marantz used their own codes so I'd try Marantz codes instead of Pioneer for your Harmony.

LV520 should be able to be modded back to Pioneer codes if you are adventurous. I did something similar here: Mod ProScan PSLD46 for Pioneer Remote

LV520 should have same board.

I'm using the LV520 codes for my Harmony, but it's not a complete code set... specifically the Frame Skip button is missing, which makes navigating a CAV disc frame-by-frame nearly impossible.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I think that probably makes sense as those buttons are only particular to the LD format so a universal remote wouldn't have a place to assign that function (unless it was a custom button you could rename).

I don't come across many incomplete IR code sets with the Harmony since all buttons are fully assignable and higher-end models (like my Elite) have LCD touchscreens for any buttons you can't or don't want to assign to a corresponding physical button.

I came across a Marantz RC500LV on eBay for $15 (via Best Offer) and grabbed it. It seems like it should work, as there is at least one person selling a LV500 with RC520LV remote... so, in reverse, an RC500LV should work with my LV520 as well.

EDIT: Which reminds me, and not sure why I didn't try this, but I should probably try the Harmony code sets for the LV500 and LV510 as well... I guess I'll do this while the RC500LV is in-route.

The RC500LV arrived today and works perfectly. Anyone needing to track down a late-model Marantz remote should know that it seems the RC500LV, RC510LV, and RC520LV all work interchangeably with the LV500, LV510, and LV520.

Hello
I have a Marantz LV520 and I got a RC300LV remote and it doesn't work. Would anyone know if they are not compatible and if there is any way to make any changes ??

Changes would be at the player level. See my first post in this thread, but proceed with extreme caution.

RC500LV, RC510LV, and RC520LV should work with the LV520. Also, the Harmony code set for the LV520 is functional but incomplete. I didn't try the LV500 or LV510 code sets in Harmony to see if they're more complete, but they should be functional as well. I've sold my LV520 on since my original post and picked up a Pioneer D704.
