I kept updating the serial list each time I found a X9 for sale online.

After 4 years here is the updated graph (monthly production on left axis, cumulative on the right axis).

That's really cool. I would have figured they would build in larger batches but more infrequently.

In Japanese business maintaining inventory is a sin. In this case it’s genuinely suicidal. You really don’t want to be sitting on a stack of unsold $6000 LD players.
